Free School Garden Workshops May 16, 18 & 25!

Special, FREE workshops focused on school gardens will be taking place at three locations around the state this May. These workshops are happening thanks to special funding from the Vermont Agency of Agriculture, Food & Markets and will be facilitated by the Vermont Community Garden Network.

Find a location near you and register today!

Each workshop will run 4:30-7:00pm, and includes a hearty snack.

  • Southern Vermont: Flood Brook Union School, Londonderry – Tuesday, May 16
  • Northeast Kingdom: Miller’s Run School, Sheffield – Thursday, May 18
  • Northwest Vermont: BFA Fairfax, Fairfax – Thursday, May 25

The workshops are free to attend, but we ask that you please sign up online to let us know you’re coming (the sooner the better!). If it’s easier for your group you can even sign up for more than one person from your school in one registration form. Here’s the online sign-up link:

These workshops are a unique opportunity to connect with fellow Vermont school garden teams to swap ideas and build common solutions—you all are your own best resources!  Consider bringing a team—this is also a great opportunity to spend some dedicated time planning with those involved with your school garden to get ready for the season.  Participants will return to their school communities with tools and strategies for growing your network of support—ensuring a well-maintained garden, better integration into your school’s farm to school efforts, and overall sustainability for the upcoming season and into the future.
